Privacy Policy

This site is served as static files with no backend server or database of our own — we don't operate user accounts, and we don't store your data on our own servers. The sections below describe exactly what does happen, including third-party services.

The audio player

Every sound is synthesized live in your browser using the Web Audio API. No audio is uploaded, streamed, or transmitted anywhere — this part of the site works the same with or without an internet connection once loaded.

Local preferences

Your theme choice (light/night) and your cookie-consent decision are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and isn't accessible to us.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand overall site usage — which pages are visited, roughly how, and from where. This involves Google setting cookies and collecting information such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type. It does not collect the contents of anything you type or which sounds you play.

For visitors in the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland, analytics cookies are only set after you accept the cookie banner, per Google's Consent Mode framework — if you decline, no Google Analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent for your visit. Elsewhere, where confirmed opt-in isn't legally required, analytics are on by default (this is a best-effort detection based on your browser's timezone, since this site has no backend to check your location server-side). Wherever you are, you can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Some guide pages may display ads served through Google AdSense. When enabled, Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites, and (where you've consented) to personalize which ads you see. You can control ad personalization directly through Google Ad Settings. As with analytics, ad personalization defaults to off until confirmed for EU/EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors, and defaults to on (with the ability to opt out anytime) everywhere else.

Third-party privacy policies

Google's Privacy Policy covers how Google Analytics and Google AdSense handle data on their end.
